Lead Infrastructure Engineer (Remote)
Offering £50,000 – £60,000 Basic Salary plus Great Benefits

Our client is an established and growing IT services business currently recruiting a Lead Infrastructure Engineer to lead and manage their data centre environments and internal IT services and systems. The Lead Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for ensuring all customer and internal server environments are secure, appropriately licenced, operational, and highly available through continuous proactive monitoring, customer support, and scheduled maintenance preparation.

Lead Infrastructure Engineer – Summary & Purpose of Role
• Build, upgrade, configure, provision and install servers from scratch spanning several different platforms and configurations, including hypervisor layer.
• Performs monitoring, troubleshooting and repair of all aspects of servers, operating systems and hardware.
• Responds to customer impacting events.
• Upgrade and downgrade servers as per operational requirements.
• Ensures security and recoverability of all environments.
• Monitors all environments and reports/resolves issues as appropriate.
• Performs routine maintenance activities on customer server environments.
• Perform security and vulnerability duties as required.
• Assist in the planning of server environments and consolidation of data centres.
• Manage and maintain all company licensing.
• Manage O365 and Azure AD Tenants.

Lead Infrastructure Engineer – Qualifications & Specifics
• Experience gained in a similar role with technical skills including; Server Management and Configuration, O365 Administration, Azure Active Directory and Data Centre Infrastructure.
• The ability to show familiarity with building, repairing or upgrading hardware components/ managing virtualised environments (VMWare based) required.
• Any IT qualifications such as MCP, MCSA, MCSE or CCNA would be desirable.
• Good knowledge and understanding of both IIS and Apache web technologies.
• Ability to perform configuration and troubleshooting of SSH, VPN, and Microsoft Remote Desktop Services, including MFA.
• Ability to follow defined operational standards (Change Management and ISO), understand data centre critical infrastructure, and understand server operating systems.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize work in a fast paced, high pressure environment required whilst consistently providing customer focused support.
• Proficient with productivity software including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office and Open Office as well as email client software including the creation of rules and folder organization.
• Industry recognized certifications including VMWare, CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, CentOS preferred.

Lead Infrastructure Engineer position is offering £50,000 – £60,000 Basic Salary plus Great Benefits including 25 Days Holiday + Stat and Private Healthcare for the successful candidate. This is a full-time, permanent, remote position with occasional need to attend our client’s office / data centre.
