Our client is an established distribution business based in West Yorkshire, operating a large distribution warehouse with an onsite showroom, supporting leading high street retailers, mail-order companies and wholesalers throughout the UK. They are currently recruiting for a Credit Controller to join their team in Halifax.

Credit Controller – Key Responsibilities:
• Proactively chase customers to ensure invoices are paid in a timely fashion.
• Recover outstanding debts through relevant collection methods (telephone and email).
• Maintain a significant debtor portfolio in both volume and value
• Drive recommendations of referral for further action when full collections techniques are exhausted to recover outstanding debts
• Reconcile large volumes of data to understand which transactions are in query or overdue.
• Document any queries within the system and monitor the progress of those queries.
• Improve interactions with customers to strengthen key relationships.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure issues are dealt with in an accurate and efficient way.

Credit Controller – Specification:
• Strong communication skills with a ‘can do’ attitude and a willingness to adapt to changing processes and deadlines.
• Ideally have previous credit control or accounts experience.
• Have a good understanding of credit control principles or techniques.
• Have sound Excel skills, with the ability to analyse and manipulate data, through a variety of different methods and consider all relevant aspects.
• Demonstrate excellent attention to detail

Credit Controller is offering £20,000 – £23,000 basic salary plus benefits for the successful candidate. This is a full-time, permanent, office based position.
