Senior Systems Technician

Offering £45,000 – £55,000 Basic Salary Plus Benefits

Our client is an established e-commerce, sales and distribution company representing a wide range of major UK and International brands. Based in Central Leeds and due to their continued growth, they are currently recruiting a Senior Systems Technician to join their business. The successful candidate will support and maintain in house IT systems.

Senior Systems Technician – Key Responsibilities

• Support, maintain and develop the in-house IT systems infrastructure.
• Liaise with third parties engaged in hosting in house systems.
• Document IT systems and processes.
• Maintain all systems in alignment with company PCI, and DPA standards.
• Ensure change management processes are followed for system/software changes.
• Provide advice and to support to other IT members.
• Provide advice and support to other business areas and staff.
• Assist the IT Manager with the ISO2700 based ISMS.
• Deputise for the IT Manager.
• Positively the company’s policies and standards.

Senior Systems Technician – Skills & Experience

• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft server and desktop systems, VMWare, VSphere, Cisco, firewalls and switches, TCP/IP, switching, routing, SMTP, proxy servers, DHCP and DNS, IT hardware, VOIP telephone systems, IT security issues.
• Ability to analyse business issues and provide technical solutions.
• Excellent time management skills with attention to detail.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to manage a broad workload.
• Excellent written communication.
• Able to use own initiative to drive improvements.
• High level of professional conduct and discretion.
• Ability to use own initiative to drive improvements.
• Willingness to work outside of regular hours when required.
• Strong IT experience of working in systems support/development role with IT.
• IT related academic qualification or professional qualification, e.g., VCP,CCSA,MCSA.
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent Problem solving, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
• Desirable knowledge of VMWare, VSAN, Cloud Hosting ( AWS/ Azure etc.) Avaya IP office telephone system, knowledge of ITIL and IS027001.

The Senior Systems Technician position is offering £45,000 -£55,000 basic salary plus great benefits for the successful candidate. This is a full time, permanent, Central Leeds site-based position with the potential to work hybrid on occasion.
